IntroductionA bright and refreshing RapidWeaver theme; featuring an innovative animated drop-down menu system which supports sub text. Use of embedded web fonts, a tasteful default colour scheme and superior feature set makes Breeze one of the very best RapidWeaver themes available for business, product or service industry websites. Breeze is a fully responsive, mobile-first theme; combining ease of use with exceptional tablet and mobile compatibility. A FreeStyle banner container and flexible grid system (empowered using Bootstrap and ExtraContent) gives you the ability to build beautiful webpages.
Why use Breeze? Well sometimes you just need a simple theme design; something that presents content nicely to your website visitors and doesn’t overpower them with a ‘candy shop’ styled website of flashy graphics and stark colour schemes. Breeze is light, simple and effective. It’s a RapidWeaver theme that’s been carefully planned and developed. Built-in features like Bootstrap, responsive video, retina images, Font Awesome Icons, Google web fonts and a flexible lightbox means that Breeze is a theme you can depend on time and time again.
NavigationBy default, Breeze uses an animated drop-down menu, which is displayed on all screens greater than 968px wide. Theme settings are also provided for both split and block navigation layouts too. A very nice feature in the drop-down menu layout of this theme is support for sub-text. These are little descriptive titles displayed under each link. This sub-text can not only improve the accessibility of your drop-down menu, but tempt users to click deeper into your website than they perhaps ordinarily might.
The little sub texts are created simply by entering a span tag and your text content after the page name like this, in the RapidWeaver page sidebar or Page Inspector:
Latest Products <span>See what's new!</span>
The live demo version of Breeze makes extensive use of these sub texts and you can download the original project file if you're still unsure about how to create sub text. Just ensure each page in your project has a unique browser title, to prevent the subtext markup showing in your browser window title. And use single quotes instead of double quotes, to prevent corruption of your sitemap. Sub text support is by-far one of the best features in this theme, and it's styled similar to the site slogan; providing a lovely balanced appearance towards the top of the page.
Breeze can support multiple levels of navigation without any problems, although normally it's not necessary to go more than two of three levels deep. On screens less than 968px wide, an animated accordion menu is displayed for the benefit of mobile and tablet users. Many aspects of both the toggle and standard navigation menu can be customised, including colours and the width of drop-down menu panels. Navigation is by far the most important component in any website, and Breeze certainly provides an exceptionally good solution, to cater for multiple website users. If using icons in your navigation menu to denote drop-downs, give them a class of
arrowto ensure they're hidden in the toggle navigation layout and breadcrumbs.
ModernBreeze uses an HTML5 Doctype and has been tested and confirmed to work in IE7, IE8, IE9, IE10, IE11, Safari, Opera, Chrome, Maxthon, Yandex, and Firefox web browsers. The theme performs well on devices like the iPad and iPhone, and also plays nicely with a wide variety of RapidWeaver page style plugins and stack elements.
ExtraContent enabledYou probably won’t believe it, but this RapidWeaver theme has a total of forty ExtraContent containers! That is possibly a record for any RapidWeaver theme. As well as ExtraContent containers in all the normal places you would expect them, Breeze features a Bootstrap grid system, in the main content container. Empowered using ExtraContent, this scaffolding gives you an instant framework to build multiple columns with. Responsive columns too. Using the Preview ExtraContent Containers option in the Miscellaneous theme style settings lets you instantly preview where all these ExtraContent containers are located. Use the normal ExtraContent techniques to get your content into these containers.
FreeStyle bannerThe banner container in Breeze is FreeStyle enabled. As the name suggests, this gives you a blank canvas and complete freedom to build fully-responsive banners of any size, shape or content you desire. 20 example banner images are included with this theme to get you started (named 1.jpg - 20.jpg). If 'FreeStyle' sounds alien to you, see the live demo site and the theme user guides for some helpful information. Once you have converted to FreeStyle, you'll probably never want to setup theme banners any other way!
Settings galoreBreeze includes lots of useful theme style and colour settings. These are all available to use from the RapidWeaver Page Inspector. Many aspects of your page can be customised, including widths, positioning, font faces, text size, alignment, colours and animation.
Social barLike many other ThemeFlood themes, Breeze includes support for a 'social bar'. This is basically an extra content container (extra content 1) which is supplied with numerous colour and positioning settings. Once activated, the social bar provides a convenient place to display social networking or social bookmarking links. These links can either be formed of plain text links or can be configured as Font Awesome Icons. Now users to your website will have an easy and prominent way to share it with others. Watch the popularity of your website grow. See the user guide for more information about social bars and to grab some example HTML code to use.
Printer perfectA lot of RapidWeaver themes by other companies frequently forget to include styling for print and PDF output. The truth is that a lot of people still like to print websites or save them as PDF for offline viewing later on. Breeze, like many other ThemeFlood themes, includes extra styling for the benefit of print and PDF output. Printouts will be devoid of useless things (like website navigation links) and instead present your main content cleanly and tidily. Inline links will have their URL’s presented, so that a user can go back to visit the link later on. It’s small details like this that can really elevate themes like Breeze over other themes available.
BreadcrumbsAdded in version 1.2, you can now display a breadcrumb trail of links above or below your main content container. Breadcrumbs can be enabled in your RapidWeaver settings. From here, you can use the theme style settings to determine whether breadcrumbs should be displayed above or below the page content region. Breadcrumbs are automatically hidden on screens less-than 568px wide, to prevent the page becoming too cluttered.
MoreThe free trial version of Breeze can be downloaded using this link. There is no time limit imposed on the demo version, but page navigation links are disabled in the demo version. Watermarks may appear in parts of the page (like the banner or footer). Purchasing Breeze provides you with a licensed copy of Breeze; without any demo restrictions applied.
