Snippets can be dragged and dropped into any code or styled text region within a RapidWeaver project. When snippets are installed, they become available in the snippet inspector and can be searched, renamed or edited for your requirements.

WebM Video Embed Snippet
WebM is a brand new video format with the aim of making a high quality, open video format available across different web browsers and devices. Currently it is only supported in the nightly-build (test) versions of Firefox, Opera and Chrome. Eventually it is expected that WebM will be rolled out across all mainstream browsers and offer competition to the H.264 format. While it would probably be unwise to rely solely on WebM in active websites, it could be used in experimental form alongside more traditional formats.

Twitter Slider Snippet
Creates a customisable box containing a Twitter feed. This Twitter feed can contain a large number of Tweets (sorted in date order) and scrolls vertically using jQuery, making it an ideal addition to news websites and blogs. When a user hovers their mouse over the slider, it pauses, allowing tweets to be read more easily and links to be clicked. Feed title and "follow me" links can be customised. Compatible with most themes which contain jQuery.

News Slider Snippet
Compatible with most themes which already contain jQuery. This snippet can be used to add a vertical news slider. Hovering over the slider pauses it. Can be used to display mixed text and graphics. Perfect for use with themes such as News Media. Ensure page output is switched to 'tidied' in the RapidWeaver page inspector to give you valid XHTML strict source code.

Summarise Box Snippet
This snippet creates a small box (height can be controlled within the inline CSS). In this box you can enter small snippets of text, extracts, quotations or article summaries. At the bottom of the summarise box is a narrow container which can contain "read more" or similar links.

Image from URL Snippet
Fetches an image from an external website (e.g. Flickr or Ember) via a URL and embeds it within your page. Fairly straightforward to setup. Very useful to display images which are already published on the internet. This updated version adds a class attribute to your image tag, permitting you to apply CSS such as borders or backgrounds to your image.

Print Box Snippet
Makes individual dividers within a page which are printable. In long pages, this enables users to print exactly what they need without wasting ink or paper. A small print link can be placed under each section. This snippet is cross-browser compatible, but some newer versions of Chrome and Safari sometimes append blank pages after the printable content.

Image Overlay Snippet
Displays an image from a URL in your page. When a user hovers over the image, a shade is applied using jQuery and a caption displayed. This snippet requires a theme with jQuery built in. Styles and divider names can be changed in the code itself.

HTML Twitter Snippet
Enables you to embed a Twitter feed in a page. In the code, change the account name (2 instances) and titles to suit your requirements. It is recommended you only have one HTML Twitter Snippet per page. The number of tweets displayed may also be customised.

Last Updated Snippet
Displays when a page was last updated based on the page modification date/time and web server clock. Date format can be customised. Remember to set you page extension to .php instead of the normal .html extension.

Move Parts Snippet
Originally developed by Tobias Vogel, now hosted on this website. This snippet allows you to move containers, images, flash and other elements in a page based on their ID selector name. More information.
